Hi, I’m Nicole Nimmons!
I’m passionate about helping others, particularly in their relationships, because I have witnessed the healing power of connection.
It is why I am pursuing certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families and am looking to bring those skills to the greater Tallahassee area.
About Nicole
Born to British and Puerto Rican parents, Nicole initially came to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University in 2009 to study Studio Art and Psychology. She met her life-partner while at FSU where they bonded over Disney, Harry Potter (#Slytherin🐍), ATLAB (Fire Nation 🔥) and Star Wars. She later went on to obtain a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University in 2015.
Prior to entering private practice, Nicole worked in community mental health clinics serving military personnel, first responders and their families, in college counseling centers, and in addiction treatment facilities.
Nicole's passion for relationships led her to pursue advanced training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy. She hopes to become a Certified Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapist within the next year. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which she uses to assist clients who have experienced trauma.
Her passion for relationships also led her to pursue becoming an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Approved Supervisor to help train the next generation of therapists.
In her free time, Nicole loves to go to the movies, experience the many amazing restaurants Tallahassee has to offer and to go on adventures with her partner and daughter.
