Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect when I contact In-Focus: Relational Therapy?

Starting therapy (especially if it is your first time seeking therapy) can be daunting. When you meet with a therapist at In-Focus for the first time, we will start by orienting you to the therapy space, reviewing your intake paperwork and answering any initial questions you might have about your therapist’s style of therapy. Then, we will assess your goals for therapy and work on a plan to meet those goals.

For couple/relationship/family therapy specifically, the first three (3) to five (5) sessions are conducted in the following format, depending on the size of the family system: all parties together, a 60-90 minute individual session for each individual, and then all parties together from then on out. This allows your therapist to take a deep dive into the system and get to the heart of the couple/relationship/family concerns in a more streamlined and comprehensive way.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a fee-for-service practice, meaning we do not take any insurance, and our services are paid for out of pocket. This maximizes our ability to safeguard our clients’ presenting concerns and prioritizes care that insurance would not normally reimburse for (i.e., relationship therapy, personal development, communication & conflict therapy, etc.).
